PIERCE RESIDENCE
Ross, California
The owners of this Craftsman-style residence wanted to improve the aethical appeal of their property’s unattractive asphalt entryway.
Our solution resulted in a choreographed sequence of outdoor spaces where visitors enter the property through a crafted wood gate framed with Sonoma stone plinths and flagstone paving. They are then directed visually past the new lap pool to entrance stairs framed in stone plinths with lanterns and Japanese maples. The stairs and paths lead past the lush seasonal landscaping where visitors continue on a brick paved walkway to the entrance of the residence.
The lap pool, located where the original carport existed, terminates at a stone wall that features a water spout and serves as a protective wall for an elevated deck beyond. Wood decks frame directly to the tree trunks of the many mature heritage oaks on the property. The two car garage is designed to blend with the shingle style detailing of the original residence.
