HALEY-REDSTONE RESIDENCE
Corte Madera, California

A 960 square foot two bedroom, one bath cottage was redesigned to a 3,200 square foot three bedroom, two and one half bath residence. The final addition to the site was the construction of a lap pool and a complementary landscape design.

The home’s interior focuses around a large open kitchen/breakfast space with an oversize island that is oriented towards a stone paved patio court yard, a lovely framed by the living room and master bedroom. A metal entry gate with flowing tendrils of stainless steel branches and leaves, designed by artist Stephen Fitz-Gerald invites visitors to experience the unique environment beyond. Of particular note is the special flavor given many elements such as the casework designed and crafted by Robert Howard. The richly grained and finished wood cabinet doors seen throughout the residence appear to organically grow from the walls providing the viewer with many sensuous surfaces to both see and feel.
